Our Anishinaabe Thunder Bezhig Logo Patches features Seven Thunderbirds representing the Seven Anishinaabe Nations (Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawotomi, Algonquin, Nipissing, Mississauga, and Oji-Cree), the Seven Directions, the Seven Fires, and the Seven Grandfather and Grandmother Teachings. The number Bezhig (1) represents the path of Mino-Bimaadiziwin (the Good Life) when all these things are brought together.
Text on the patch is written using the Anishinaabemowin Syllabic alphabet. Syllabics is an Indigenous writing system utilized by Anishinaabemowin, Cree, and Inuktitut speakers.
